Economic Development in Superior, CO

The Town of Superior, Colorado is conveniently located between Boulder and Denver along the U.S. 36 corridor. An expanding and innovative community, Superior has multiple retail centers and office complexes, with a new mixed use downtown under development. 

Superior hired Better City to conduct a variety of economic development services, including recruiting businesses to fill-in vacant commercial spaces, assisting with business retention efforts, crafting marketing materials, and providing market insights to community leaders. Better City has worked with Superior since 2019, and provides the following services:

• Create marketing material to support business recruitment, including marketing brochures, copy for a brand-new economic development website (www.superior-business.org), and guidance on structuring a business incentive program. Better City also arranged meetings with prospective businesses at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Las Vegas and Entertainment Experience Evolution (EEE) conferences.
• Assist with business retention efforts through direct outreach to local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic and after the Marshall Fire, and helped the Town roll out a series of support grants for impacted businesses. Provided social media posts and local business spotlight articles for ‘shop local’ campaigns.
• Quarterly reports and commercial real estate analyses, tracking commercial property vacancy changes and data from CoStar in all commercial centers.
