Economic Development Authority Strategy Plan
New Ulm, Minnesota
The New Ulm Economic Development Authority (EDA) Strategic Plan is a comprehensive roadmap designed to shift the EDA from a reactive, program-focused agency to a proactive, strategic leader.
The plan focuses on five key strategic priorities to be implemented over the next 3–5 years:
- Housing density & development
- Business retention & “economic gardening”
- Tourism & hotel development
- EDA identity and branding
- Coordination between economic partners
Purpose and Vision
The overarching mission is to drive sustainable growth through innovation and stewardship. The plan emphasizes using data-driven metrics (such as housing permits, vacancy rates, and business inquiries) to evaluate success and ensure programs remain aligned with community needs.
