Economic Development Authority Strategy Plan
New Ulm, Minnesota

The New Ulm Economic Development Authority (EDA) Strategic Plan is a comprehensive roadmap designed to shift the EDA from a reactive, program-focused agency to a proactive, strategic leader.

The plan focuses on five key strategic priorities to be implemented over the next 3–5 years:

  1. Housing density & development
  2. Business retention & “economic gardening”
  3. Tourism & hotel development
  4. EDA identity and branding
  5. Coordination between economic partners

Purpose and Vision

The overarching mission is to drive sustainable growth through innovation and stewardship. The plan emphasizes using data-driven metrics (such as housing permits, vacancy rates, and business inquiries) to evaluate success and ensure programs remain aligned with community needs.
