Green Valley, AZ
Resilience Action Plan
Freeport McMoRan has hired Better City, an economic development advisory firm, to draft Green Valley’s Resilience Action Plan (RAP). These plans are community driven, meaning that the risks, actions, and implantation efforts described in the plan come directly from the community.
Why is the plan being done in my community?
Freeport is sponsoring RAPs in most of its operation communities to support resilience efforts and to improve collaboration and leadership within the communities.
Who is leading the plan?
A Mobilization Team comprised of community members and leaders is established for each RAP to lead the project at the local level. The team is an open membership and participation by additional members of the public is welcome. To learn about the next meeting or how to participate, please reach out to the Better City team.
What is the timeline for the Project?
The planning process typically takes 6 to 9 months to complete, but is dependent on the specific strategies, leads, and actions identified in the plan. After the plan is completed, the Mobilization Team will be responsible for overseeing the actions identified in the plan and will meet regularly to update the community on its progress. Additionally, the plan will become available to the broader community and will be added to this webpage.
How can I participate
In addition to participating in the Moblization Team meetings, you can take the community survey to help identify and describe community risks that should be addressed in the plan. Please click the link below to participate.
