Downtown Hotel Recruitment
Brigham City, Utah
Brigham City, a town of 18,000 in northern Utah, engaged Better City in late 2012 after massive cuts to the US space shuttle program resulted in the loss of 10% of the county's highest paying jobs.
Through an in-depth Economic Development Strategic Plan, Better City determined that the city had opportunities for enhancing hospitality facilities in the local marketplace to support and expand existing job clusters. After delivering the Economic Development Strategic Plan in mid-2013, Better City assisted in structuring a public-private partnership with an established hotel developer to construct a new $6M Hampton Inn in the downtown core. After an early 2014 groundbreaking, the 73-room hotel opened in the winter of 2014.
