North Central New Mexico Economic Development District
CEDS

This project presents the 2026–2030 Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for North Central New Mexico, a forward-looking plan designed to guide regional growth, strengthen economic resilience, and improve quality of life across an eight-county, culturally diverse region. Developed through extensive stakeholder engagement and data analysis, the strategy outlines a coordinated approach to addressing key challenges such as housing affordability, infrastructure gaps, workforce development, and economic diversification. By aligning local governments, businesses, and community organizations around shared priorities, the plan serves as both a roadmap for action and a tool to secure state and federal funding for impactful projects.

  • Establishes a Five-Pillar Strategy focused on housing, infrastructure, workforce development, business growth, and government capacity
  • Incorporates regional data, stakeholder input, and SWOT analysis to identify opportunities and challenges
  • Prioritizes collaboration across counties, tribal nations, and local governments
  • Supports project development and funding readiness through clear strategies and metrics
  • Aims to create sustainable economic growth and improved quality of life for over 300,000 residents

Ultimately, this strategy reflects a shared regional vision of vibrant, resilient communities supported by strong infrastructure, diverse economies, and inclusive opportunities. By focusing on both immediate needs and long-term sustainability, the project positions North Central New Mexico to adapt to economic changes while preserving its unique cultural and environmental assets.
